Happy 1st Birthday!
Want a fun way to celebrate your little one's first birthday? Then a cake smash might be the perfect thing!
I have wanted to photograph a cake smash for such a long time, so I was ecstatic to realise one of my newborn clients was almost a whole year old! If you've seen my other work, you know I love a good outdoor backdrop and I'm lucky enough to live right beside a lovely nature reserve. It was a five minute walk to this patch of field that I knew would be perfect for our little one's photos.
I always advise light, white or cream coloured outfits against a natural backdrop!
We started, of course, with some lovely portraits of the birthday princess before the cake came out. How adorable is she?! We even got some of her in the crown before she wrestled it off.
Once she was happily settled, it was time to get the cake out... Then chaos ensued!
Although cautious at first (she kept looking at mum as if to say, 'I can really eat all this cake?') she soon got into it!
